This story begins in 1910 in the Golden Isles of Georgia. That winter six men gathered to meet and create a Monster that would eventually wreak havoc in the United States and around the world.
These “mad scientists” met on Jekyll Island with the assistance of some of the wealthiest people in the world at that time: JD Rockefeller, Andrew Carnegie, and JP Morgan were just a few.
With every meeting they would concoct new formulas that would eventually give birth to this ravenous creature and by Spring it was time for the mad scientists to return to their homes in the North. But the Creature that sprang from the brains of these men and their wealthy benefactors followed them home to New York City.
Once the Monster was loose in New York it began to devour the brains of the wealthiest and most connected people of the age. Over the next several years it gained control over the wealthy families that were the backbone of this financial capital of the country.
It then moved on to the political capital of the United States: Washington D.C. There the Creature’s bloodthirsty habits quickly brought it into the halls Congress. Many a dark and stormy night found it picking off the elected representatives one by one. This trail of carnage eventually led to the door of the White House and soon the newly elected President of the United States succumbed to the Beast.
And with votes secured, in 1913 this Creature burst into view to the world and changed our economy forever. Today the Creature from Jekyll Island goes by another name to hide its origin all those years ago on that idyllic Island.
Beware of the Federal Reserve Bank!
(This "horror story" is purely in jest and loosely based on the infamous book The Creature from Jekyll Island about the formation of the Federal Reserve.)
